.
How did you get your name?
Well basically with the name I had a different one before then after a year of having that one I switched it myself to relentless just because the relentlessness of me as a person and an artist so it fit
.

All right, Relentless, I know you grew up in Boston. Give us a little background?
I actually grew up in the North Shore area, not far away from the city. I Also grew up in a town in Florida close to Clearwater
.

Who are some of your musical influences?
Man, let's see we got Rakim, wu-tang, Krs-One, Canibus, Big Pun, Boot Camp Clik, OC, Gangstarr and the list goes on man just the realest mc's you could think of but probably mainly the ones I mentioned. Also I was inspired a lot by New Jack Swing music.
.

How did you get into hip-hop and for how long have you been rapping?
I've felt like I been a part of the hip-hop culture since I was about 6 or 7 years old which would be in the late 80's. But, the first time I spit was in 97 for a little bit. Then came back into it in 2000.
.

How would you describe your sound?
Man, just hip-hop, I don't like to typecast myself. Sometimes people will say it's one thing then somebody else will say it sounds like another
.

I know you make beats yourself? Could you suggest where people can preview and buy them? How did you learn to make beats?
Yeah you can preview them on http://myspace.com/divinerhymeproductions  and http://soundclick.com/divinerhymeproductions. I basically taught myself on a couple different samplers and computer software.
.

How do you select beats for your albums?
I usually get a bunch of shit from different producers I know as well as my own shit. Then, figure out which ones would fit a certain feeling or concept. Sometimes I'll just write to various beats and figure which ones would be best for an album and use the others for different projects.

.
What do you want to accomplish in hip-hop?
I want to help bring back the culture of it and bring this shit back to how it used to be. Now a lot of cats say this so it's a little cliche and I cannot really explain what I mean. But, my true cats will know what I mean when they read this.

.
Do you think hip hop is headed for a breakdown due to oversaturation of music caused by sites like myspace? In other words anyone can be an artist on myspace and fans are bombarded with free mixtapes and song samples on myspace.and all over the net This is way different from what it used to be when radio and people actually buying cds era.
Exactly my point in the last question. Don't get me wrong myspace and facebook are good tools for artists to promote but I just question how many mc's would disappear without the internet. Cuz I know even if u took any form of technology away from me I would still be spitting. I was before I connected to Skynet and will be after. And another reason the buying cd's era is gone is mostly because the new technology but also because that era is gone cuz barely anybody's dropping anything worth buying.

You were opening for Sean Price, Reef The Lost Cause, Jedi Mind Tricks and Dom Pachino… Which were your favorite concerts you have been to?
Well the best concert I ever been to was wu-tang back in 97 in tampa right after forever came out and right before the tour with rage. All nine generals were there and Killarmy opened and they had Sunz Of Man with them too so that shit was crazy. And a couple Krs-One shows stand out as well as the zulu nation anniversary in 2004.
.
Let's get right into your upcoming solo album material. What details do you have about this project? Any Wu Killa Bees on it?
I got a couple albums coming out. The 1st one is called Dark Days featuring a few of my peoples such as Illamental, Aztech, Vendetta Kingz and a couple others. Then after that, I'm dropping a gem entirely produced by one of close Allies. No wu killa bees on it.
.

Tell us about your EP and where people can get it?
The latest project I dropped was The Gritty Raw Intellect Volume 2. You can cop that off me at one of the shows or by request.

.
What other projects are you working on?
I'm currently working on my man Illamental's "Gods Of The Universe" Album. Entirely produced by me. As well as a few other productions for a few other cats in the underground. So be on the lookout.
.
How do you feel about Guru’s death and how hip-hop community reacted to it?
It's a sad thing because Gangstarr and Guru are legendary. As far as people reacting, I don't know man: I feel like just every other time an MC or hip-hop artist passes everybody wants to act like that those artists are their favorites. But we really should be appreciating and cherishing them as people when they're alive.

.
How do you feel about Boston hip-hop scene? (Underground and overall) … What unique about it… what is it lacking?
I don't know how I feel about it honestly. There's alot of positive things going on and at the same time there's alot of hatred also. So i've never just wanted to be involved in the boston scene only. Yeah I rep it but hip-hop is not meant to be local. But there's definitely some real ill cats here and they need to be appreciated more.
.
Thank you for your time and we wish you further success my dude. Do you have any final words?
No doubt. Peace Man. And my final words are stop being fanboys!
